Lake Rosseau - solar panel installation
CedarCoast Partner, Patrick Bongers shows the installation of solar panels on this bunkie, currently being built above an existing CedarCoast boathouse on beautiful Tobin Island, Lake Rosseau.
"Hi, it’s Pat from Cedar Coast Homes. I’m back on Tobin Island, where we’re building a new bunkie above an existing boathouse. As I pan across the site, you’ll see the original solar system that was in place. It was removed during construction, and today we’re reinstalling an updated setup. The existing structure did have a solar system on it. It got removed and we are just replacing it here now.
I’m here with Gopal from Herc du Soleil in Newmarket. Thanks for being here, Gopal - can you walk us through the system we’re putting back in place and what homeowners can expect from it?"
Gopal says, "We have 16 channels on this roof. We took it down for a reroofing solar panel with 260 watt DC. And then we have the microwave you put up for each panel."
Patrick responds, "Right on. Well, thanks. Thanks for sharing that. We'll get some more shots when it's all done. This system here produces a lot of power for this beautiful cottage. It feeds back to the grid. It's been up for 13 years now. It's still performing very, very well. So the owner is happy to get it back installed and get some free hydro coming up to his cottage.
