Camel Lake - Recirculation Pump

Instant hot water at every tap? Yes, please.

Ryan walks us through the crawl space at our Camel Lake build and shows how a hot water recirculation pump keeps water moving so you’re never waiting for it to heat up.

New Paragraph

A small feature that makes a big difference in cottage comfort.

"Hi everyone—Ryan here from CedarCoast Homes."

Today’s How do we do it? spotlight is on a small but incredibly useful piece of your cottage’s plumbing system.

"We're out at Camel Lake, taking a look inside the crawl space mechanical area. Behind me is the hot water tank, and beside it is a compact component that plays a big role in everyday comfort: the hot water recirculation pump.

What Does a Recirculation Pump Do?

In many cottages, the hot water tank sits at one end of the home while bathrooms and kitchens sit at the other. Without help, it can take several minutes for hot water to travel through the lines - especially in long floorplans or multi-level builds.

A recirculation pump solves that problem by continuously moving hot water through the plumbing loop. This means:

  • Instant hot water at your taps
  • Less water wasted while waiting for it to warm up
  • Improved comfort and efficiency throughout the cottage

If you're planning a new build - or upgrading an existing cottage - this is a feature worth considering.
