Camel Lake : First Views

A Fully Accessible Cottage on Camel Lake
Follow along with Patrick and his Site Superintendent, Ryan as they describe progress on this wonderful cottage.
"Hi, it’s Pat from Cedar Coast...
I’m back on Camel Lake today. The trees are thick with fresh snowfall, so you can barely see the lake through them, but the property is looking great.
As I turn around, you can see the cottage behind me. The cedar shingles look fantastic, and although the lakeside isn’t quite finished yet, it’s really coming together. We’ve put in a new path that takes advantage of the gentle slope from the patio doors, making everything easily accessible. All of this space will become hardscape, extending right up to the doors for smooth, barrier-free entry.
There’s also a gentle ramp running around the far side of the building, providing full access around the cottage and down to the lake. This is a fully accessible build, complete with accessible showers, low thresholds, and thoughtful design throughout. It’s going to be a great finished product once everything is complete.
Right now, we’re focused on exterior siding. The cedar shakes and board-and-batten look great—the colors really pop. The board-and-batten will get one more coat of finish in the spring.
I’m here with Ryan, the project manager on site. He’s been on this project since last spring. Inside, the team is working on trim and preparing for flooring installation in the next couple of weeks. They’re also finishing up the living-room ceiling before moving into final touches.
