Framing, Deck Beams & Walkout Level on Lake Muskoka
CedarCoast frames this exciting Lake Muskoka cottage, installs Douglas fir deck beams, and prepares the walkout level for insulation, concrete, and rough-ins.
Hello and thanks for tuning in again - Pat here from CedarCoast Homes on Lake Muskoka.
We’re making great progress as this Lake Muskoka build gets framed in, and you can really start to see the shape of the cottage taking form.
Framing Takes Shape
With the main structure going up, we’re now framing in the walkout level and pushing forward on key structural elements that set the stage for the next phases - insulation, concrete, and then the interior systems.
A Deck Built to Stand Out
One of the standout features on this build is the deck coming out from the structure. You can see the Douglas fir beams supporting the deck - these are not only strong, they bring a warm, natural look that will be absolutely gorgeous once everything is finished.
Stone at the Walkout Level
Right now, we’re focused on getting the walkout level closed in so we’re ready for the next steps:
- Floor insulation, using spray foam for a tight, high-performance seal
- Concrete pour planned for next week
- Continued interior framing once the space is closed in.
This is an important transition point - the structure is tightened up, interior work becomes more efficient and we can start moving faster through the build.
Rough-Ins Are Coming Next
After the next round of internal framing, we’ll move into rough-in work, including:
- Electrical
- Plumbing
- Heating systems
- Smart Home systems (going into this cottage)
