Sparrow Lake in Muskoka. Winter has fully settled in - it’s been snowing steadily for weeks - and while cold weather can slow construction, progress continues on this custom lakeside cottage.

Timber Porch Framing Takes Shape
One of the defining features of this Sparrow Lake cottage is the large timber-frame porch, which is now fully framed and clearly defining the cottage’s lakeside presence.
The porch has been thoughtfully designed with two distinct uses:
- The central section will be enclosed as a three-season room, offering shelter from wind and weather while maintaining a strong connection to the outdoors.
- The front portion will remain open as a classic Muskoka sitting porch, perfect for relaxing, gathering with family, and enjoying lake life.
Timber framing adds warmth, character, and durability - ideal for a cottage meant to be enjoyed for generations.
Lakeside Deck Framing in Progress
Along the front of the cottage, the crew is framing a lakeside deck that runs the length of the structure. This deck will seamlessly connect to the timber porch, expanding the outdoor living space and creating multiple places to sit, entertain, and take in the view.
West-Facing Views on Sparrow Lake
Surrounded by mature trees and facing west over Sparrow Lake, this property is perfectly positioned for sunset views. On clear days, you can see right across the lake - and while today’s snowfall limits visibility, the setting makes it easy to imagine summer evenings spent watching the sun drop below the horizon.
