What do cedar homes smell like?

Log homes will have a slight smell of wood. Since our log homes are from cedar, they have a slight cedar smell, which homeowners will not notice after a while. Our Post & Beam homes can have cedar, pine or plasterboard interior finishes. The interior scent can be affected by the interior finish. Interior wood finishes tend to have a very pleasant scent.
Do you have to paint the wood?
The interior wood can be painted if you wish, but most people either do nothing (which is fine) or put a coat of clear sealer on the wood. Alternatively, we can factory-finish the wood, which gives a beautiful furniture-like finish. Either way, there is no maintenance on the interior wood - it will never have to be finished again
