Why don't cedar wood homes hold the dampness and chill?

Cedar has special properties - tanins and oils - which allow it to be more damp and mould resistant than most other wood species. Any cedar home that is properly designed and maintained should NEVER have dampness and mould problems and should last for hundreds of years. Certainly just the fact that the home is built in a damp climate will not cause mould. Cedar homes have been built around the world, in the wettest of climates. Once you heat them up they hold their heat for a long time.
